Treasures in the garden
Our garden is wild, it’s an explosion of flowers (and weeds). I haven’t had time to do much, but to discover new plants. Like this iris. I thought it was hay, it had never blossomed before. In fact I had planned to get rid of the “hay” and plant irises instead! Lucky I didn’t do it…
Another thing I planned to plant (and in fact did, but with no result so far) was more poppies. But this summer, in addition to the big, stunning red poppies, I found these small and fragile white poppies. Seems I have quite similar taste to the previous owner.
The red poppies are my favorites.
I love the columbines. This year there are not only pink, but also gorgeous purple ones.

Muutenkin talon entinen rouva tuntuu olleen hyvin samoilla linjoilla kanssani. Meillä kasvaa isoja, upean punaisia unikoita ja ajattelin kylvää niille kaveriksi vähän hennompia ja vaaleampia. Tänä kesänä juuri samasta penkistä löytyi sitten valkoisia unikkoja. Ehkä ensi kesänä pääsen jo itse tekemään enemmän. Juuri mitään en aio kyllä poistaa, lähinnä kitkeä rikkaruohoja, muuttaa joittenkin paikkoja ja lisätä uusia kukkia.
I love all the beautiful flowers you have. Just gorgeous!! I’m sure glad I found your blog. It is well put together, and a really nice blog. I found you the other day, and this makes my 2nd or 3rd time in here. Have a great day, and keep up the good work. See ya soon again.
Thank you so much Paula Jo!! And welcome :)
The poppies are gorgeous! I’m so happy to have found your blog– I’m a first time visitor and HAD to comment. I love it! I’ll look forward to future posts…
So many lovely flowers! We moved in to a new house this winter and it’s so fun to se what grows in the garden.. so I’ll wait to next year before doing much.. never know what kind of “treasures” that will show up:)
Hi Jutta, just discovered your blog through Vicki, being one of the Droplets’ students (and former Raining Umbrellas student). I do love your blog and am fascinated by your interpretation of renovating and decorating a house. In my opinion, this makes a house really to a home.
These flower photos are beautiful. I also love poppies because of their specific and special colour, their power and their fragility.
Thanks for sharing!
Oh, my, so many beautiful, wild treasures in your garden, Jutta! It must be such a treat to explore it.
Wonderful to hear from you and I hope you and Panu and doggies are having a lovely summer. xo – g
I wish I could take photos like this, so beautiful. Wild flowers are the best kind –
They are making me jealous that it’s summer over there!
Love the photography and the light on the flowers!
What fabulous shots. I love the ladybug in the iris. You’ve got a great eye.
