I photographed our kitchen for StyleRoom’s kitchen competition. As I was clearing (aka styling) the kitchen it started bugging me. I want real family life to show in the photos and don’t want to over-style. But producing a beautiful picture is usually different from producing a realistic picture. And I’ve started to wonder if bloggers (well media in general, too) give people unrealistic expectations of how homes should look like. So below is a photo of the cleaned and styled kitchen, plus the same place next day, when normal life has creeped in. I don’t know what is the right balance of beauty and keepin it real, if there is such a thing. What do you think?
